Dalgona Coffee, the variation of coffee that has taken the internet by storm, during the corona virus pandemic as a DIY (Do It Yourself) version. It has become a Quarantine Drink all over the internet.

The Dalgona Coffee was first popularized in South Korea, the term Dalgona was coined by actor Song II-Woo.

Since, the world is in quarantine, the DIY drink which consists of just 3 ingredients became one of the most popular drinks there is in modern times.

Now, I wanted to try this version of coffee myself to understand why it gained so much popularity.

Even though, the name seems intimidating, the procedure of making one isn't that complicated and can easily be done. However, to make this coffee, you'll require a lot of time on your hand and considering most places are in lock down (and also most of the readers of this blog are teenagers and have not better to do ;p), it shouldn't be a problem.

The ingredients required are as follows:

1)Instant Coffee Powder

2)Water

3)Sugar

To start off, put equal amounts of coffee powder and sugar in a bowl, roughly 3-4 tbsp of each and add some hot water to the bowl.

Fair Warning!! If you don't have a whip at home, you'll have to do it by hand and would require a very strong arm and a lot of patience.

The mixture has to come together and must froth. Once that process is done, take the fanciest glass available in the house or a just a normal glass, depending completely on what you want to do. By this I mean, whether you wanna take 100's of pictures of the coffee and then drink it or just straight up drink it.

Once that is done, pour milk into the glass(hot or cold based on your preferences, add ice cubes as well if its a milkshake) and then add the froth on top of the milk.

There you have it, you have just made Dalgona Coffee.

You can add whatever toppings you like with the ingredients you have.

And yes, it's shaped like a cone and could have done with more froth but it was good enough for me. And yes, couldn't find another glass, so A McDowell's Brandy glass was used.

To conclude, Dalgona isn't bad and can be done a few times, when you are extremely free and want to try something new, however it isn't something that can be done on a regular basis, as it is quite time consuming and requires a lot of work and honestly speaking isn't as great as I thought it'd be.
